A Very Brooklyn Welcome

My dad grew up in Brooklyn. In his youth, I think a “Brooklyn welcome” would have been more like a greeting from a neighboring borough — a Bronx cheer. Or worse.

Today, “Brooklyn” is a global brand of sorts that reflects a new city — one that is pulsing with start-up energy and innovation, but that still has that disdain for pomp and ceremony.

In that spirit, we’re launching Brooklyn Story Lab — a media company for a new age. We use our journalistic experience to help clients and partners better tell their own stories, while staying laser-focused on social-good initiatives.

Here’s a piece I wrote for Entrepreneur.com that best articulates the back story — and the new vision.
